Pompadour Construction

Tony Bridson, is a registered artisan and is the proprietor of Pompadour Construction which was registered in France in October 2008. He has lived in St Sornin Lavolps, a small hamlet on the outskirts of Pompadour since this time. He is originally from the Isle of Man where the first 20 years of his building trade took place.

Tony is a qualified joiner/glazier and also very experienced in all aspects of masonry work. He acquired his masonry skills from working alongside his father, who has been a stonemason in the Isle of Man for over 45 years.

We use the services of a wide range of qualified and French registered tradesman covering electric & plumbing services, joinery work, plastering, septic tank (fosse septique) installation and groundworks.

We can arrange planning applications, electricity & water connections.

We keep our clients regularly updated via telephone, emails and photographs, especially if they are not based in France, so they still feel involved in the project every step of the way.

Bespoke Green Oak Carpentry

We manufacture and erect green oak structures including raised oak balconies, carports, covered terraces, outbuildings, garages and porches. So if it’s a wooden structure you require, we can provide it.

Plastering Services

We have over 10 years experience in the plastering craft and offer a plastering service using either French or English products.

We use the services of Graham Fletcher on the majority of our projects. He is a fully qualified plasterer who served his apprenticeship within his father’s business in the UK. He registered his business in France in July 2009.

We can plaster anything from the largest of ceilings to the smallest repair.

Stonework

We specialise in new and old stonework, structural repairs, stone walling and all aspects of re-pointing using traditional products.

Sandblasting

We offer a sandblasting service and have undertaken many projects which include stone and beam cleaning.

Barn Conversions

We are specialists in barn conversions and have converted several barns in the Limousin region. Barns are often a very good way to get the large ‘open’ space people like in modern day living, whilst still retaining the charm of the original features found in these sorts of buildings.

From initial contact with our clients, through the planning stages to a finished project, we can construct the home that you have always dreamed of.

New build properties are a good choice as they can be made to look totally modern with the outside walls rendered or traditionally faced in stone or wood.

New builds can have a timber framed construction which is ecologically friendly, thermally efficient and timber sourced in France is a renewable energy. This type of construction is now very much favoured by French people.
