"We had a serious problem in our house in Segur. After pulling down the old hardboard ceiling in a room we were restoring we discovered that a main oak beam had rotted at the end and the whole ceiling was in danger of becoming a floor!!
Thankfully I was recommended to contact Pompadour Construction by a friend who had used Tony Bridson to convert his old barn.
Tony is not your average run-of-the-mill builder. Tony is both a true craftsman and a perfectionist. While we returned to work in England we were happy to leave Tony to install the solution.
In the cave beneath he constructed concrete pillars and topped them with 30cm square oak beams which he cut to support the floor joists above. In the room above he made an oak frame to sit atop the now strengthened floor. He had jacked up the rotten ceiling beams until they were back where they had been some years before and they now rest safely on this beautiful oak frame, which is now a feature of the room.
Sadly I was not there to see the work done, only to see the finished article. I was kept up to date with progress by Tony and also by most of the villagers who found the whole thing quite fascinating. I can’t think of anyone who could have done a better job for us."

"In late 2009 we were looking for a builder to work on our loft conversion in Segur Le Chateau. A verbal recommendation led us to Pompadour Construction and Tony Bridson. We arranged a meeting and were immediately struck by his positive approach that he adopted.
Work began in February 2010 and was virtually completed by the end of June. We were delighted with the whole result and with the high standard of the work. Tony was also able to find a plasterer, electrician and plumber for us.

"I met Tony Bridson of Pompadour Construction in 2010 quite by accident. I told him I had some work that I needed doing on my house and asked him for a quote. Within a few days he game me a devis and a proposed start date for the work I wanted done on my house.
His devis was very reasonable and he explained, carefully, what the work entailed.
The work was carried out in advance of the date given and I, and my French neighbours, were impressed by the finished product, how clean he left the site, removing all the debris and above all, his lovely manners.

"Tony Bridson led the installation team for the erection of a conservatory at my previous house. The brief was for a 7 metre by 3.5 metre glass roofed kitchen extension. The whole installation was one of the most pain free building experiences I have ever had.
The site was clean and tidy at all times, the level of workmanship was second to none and above all, when issues did arise, myself as the client, was consulted immediately and pragmatic and effective solutions were found. In particular, an engineering issue arose where the architect hadn't identified adequate supporting points for a 7 metre beam. Tony quickly found a solution and had the required materials ordered and installed within the day.
Tony was a pleasure to work with and someone I would feel comfortable with leaving to get on with things in my absence. I would thoroughly recommend his work."

"Tony Bridson carried out a full loft conversion on my property. This work consisted of strengthening the floor and laying a new floor, removal of chimney stack and repairing the roof. He fitted Velux windows and insulated and plaster boarded the ceiling, followed by the plastering of the ceiling and all walls. He also did all the necessary joinery work.
